Hamilton fans in London, get set! The theatrical phenomenon has some new faces joining in, with Emily-Mae Walker stepping into the historical shoes of Angelica Schuyler in the play’s West End run.
Emily-Mae joined the Hamilton cast on August 14. Previously part of Frozen, The Bodyguard and City of Angels, she is no stranger to West End and has performed at the Royal Theatre at Drury Lane and the Garrick Theatre. With her previously critically acclaimed performances, Emily-Mae is likely to be a refreshing addition to the cast of Hamilton at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre.
Emily-Mae will be performing alongside Alex Sawyer as Alexander Hamilton and Jay Perry, the latter of whom was a swing in the musical and is now playing Aaron Burr. All performers took to the stage on August 14. Despite the tough act to follow, Emily-Mae, Sawyer, and Perry are all unarguably brilliant performers who will definitely bring their own spin on these beloved characters.
Until March 29, 2025, the musical will be selling tickets on the West End. Hamilton has won multiple awards, including the Olivier, for its seamless blend of history, hip-hop, RnB, and classic showtunes. Written by the celebrated Lin-Manuel Miranda, the London run of the show is directed by Thomas Kail, and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler. Hamilton has already cemented its position as one of the most acclaimed shows on West End. With the talented new performers rounding out the cast, the musical is likely to continue its successful run and take West End by storm.
