The Gillian Lynne Theatre formerly known as New London Theatre is the first theatre in the West End of London which wasn’t named after a royal woman or family member. This theatre opened in 1973 with The Unknown Soldier and His Wife and hosted many musicals, plays and a snooker championship when it was operating as a television studio. The design is that of a thrust stage which makes it look like a square horseshoe, surrounding the auditorium.

As a huge Totoro fan, I absolutely loved this show. It felt truly magical from beginning to end. The musicians were fantastic, the actors made the story feel so real, and the puppetry was incredible. Seeing Totoro come to life on stage was an unforgettable experience. I left with a big smile on my face and would recommend it to any Totoro fan.
I am a big studio ghibli fan and the magic that the movies have was brought to life on stage
Tremendous, highly recommended
‘My Neighbour Totoro’ was the best theatre production I've ever seen. The set design was absolutely brilliant, with fantastic scene changes. A superb live orchestra and brilliant actors. It was produced with great care and attention to detail. There were also some really funny moments involving the extras. And the costumes (Totoro etc.) were brilliant. 10/10 I was smiling the whole time.
