Sleeping Beauty Takes A Prick!: Cast and creatives
The West End pantomime will showcase the previously introduced Matthew Baldwin, portraying the character of Queen Gertrude. Joining the cast are an array of talented performers, including Nikki Biddington (known for 'Faking Bad: A Parody Methsical' at Turbine Theatre), Natalia Brown (celebrated for her role in 'Ain’t Too Proud' in the West End), Matthew Gent (a familiar face from 'Cabaret' in the West End), Myles Hart (known for 'The Book of Mormon' in the West End), Chris Lane (acclaimed for 'Sh!tfaced Shakespeare' on the UK tour and in London), Tom Mann (from 'Fanny & Stella' at Above the Stag), Jordan Stamatiadis (recognized for 'Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends: A Celebration' in the West End), and Fin Walton, who is making his professional debut.
The production of Sleeping Beauty Takes A Prick! is co-authored by Jon Bradfield and Martin Hooper and features original compositions by Jon Bradfield. These creative minds, renowned for their cherished Christmas performances at the now-closed Above The Stag theatre, have boldly inserted gay characters into beloved fairytales, adventures, and legends. Their unconventional and imaginative productions celebrated as a seasonal highlight, have become the most successful alternative pantomime series in the country. Over a decade, they have consistently drawn enthusiastic audiences, with the most recent production boasting an impressive 70 performances.
