An Enemy of the People marks Ostermeier's (Death in Venice, The Little Foxes) West End debut. It will run at the Duke of York's Theatre from 6 February 2024 to 6 April 2024.
When Dr. Stockmann discovers something incredible about the therapeutic waters in his local baths, his town's destiny is thrust upon his shoulders. But doubt and power pose barriers in his way. Ostermeier's take on this classic tale adds a contemporary twist with allusions to climate change, demonstrating why this story remains relevant today.
