Curtain call: Disney’s Frozen announces final performance in West End

In a bittersweet announcement for fans, Frozen's West End production at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane has been extended for the final time, with curtains set to fall on the show in September. Since its reopening in September 2021 after a pandemic-induced hiatus and an impressive £60 million restoration project, the production has been a resounding success, captivating the hearts of over 2.8 million audience members.

Frozen, a theatrical adaptation of the beloved Disney animated film, features music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, with a book penned by Jennifer Lee. The show has not only weathered the storm of the global pandemic but has emerged triumphant, earning accolades and nominations, including seven WhatsOnStage Awards and four Olivier Award nominations, including the coveted Best New Musical category.

Samantha Barks, who originally played the role of Elsa in the West End, will return to Frozen in February after taking maternity leave. Currently, Jenna-Lee James plays the part.
