The production will be staged at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End for the first time later this year. Stranger Things is based on the hit American, science fiction, horror-drama Netflix series of the same name, created by the Duffer Brothers, who also serve as creative producers for the play. The theatrical prequel was written by the show’s co-executive producer Kate Trefry, along with Jack Thorne (Enola Holmes).
Award-winning director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Crown) co-directed STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW with Justin Martin. Miriam Buether created the sets, Brigitte Reiffenstuel created the costumes, Jon Clark designed the lighting, Paul Arditti developed the sound design, Jamie Harrison and Chris Fisher developed the illusions, and 59 Productions created the visual effects for the play.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow is set in 1959 in Hawkins, a typical small town with a mundane set of problems. Joyce Maldonado simply wants to graduate and leave town, while Young Jim Hopper's car won't start and Bob Newby's sister does not pay attention to his radio show seriously. A new beginning isn't always that simple, and the past does not stay buried for very long, as new student Henry Creel's family discovers when he first arrives. Witness the origins of the Upside Down as it takes over London! Book Stranger Things: The First Shadow tickets now!

Very good realization! Mega good effects! Even my daughter, who doesn't understand a word of English, understood the performance well... 👍👍👍

Amazing special effects and visuals. The actors portraying younger versions of the TV show characters were so spot on! A great storyline and just a fantastic production overall.
I love the play! My place was in a very unfortunate row, "S", so I barely can see the elevated acts, but anyway: effects, actors, storyline, music! This is how the modern play looks like! I really hope Netflix will have an adaptation/recording,because I want to rewatch it already. Love it.
This show was absolutely amazing. The cast and production were phenomenal. We loved it. We went for the cheaper seats at the back of the stalls and it did hinder the experience slightly (we was aware that it might) it was also stiflingly hot so found myself itching to get outside during the break. other than that the show was brilliant and we said we would actually go and watch it again, it was that good.
Show was fantastic. It was that reason we traveled to London from Canada for our summer vacation this year! Acting, special effects, scenery: phenomenal. I really wish the show was in a different theater. Besides no air conditioning making it very uncomfortable on that hot day we had (dripping sweat the entire show) . The seats on main level are blocked by balcony. Everyone in our section had to watch leaning forward and we missed several scenes that we too high to see... For 1000 bucks for a family of 4, that was tough.
The cost of the tickets starts from £36 and will vary depending on the type of seats you choose.
The show does not have a strict age limit. However, it is most suitable for children aged 12 and above.
