Storyline
The play tells the narrative of Eliza Doolittle, a young woman from the streets of London who finds herself under the tutelage of Henry Higgins, a renowned linguist and phonetics professor, who intends to make her into an elegant lady of high society. Eliza begins to question Higgins' ideas about class and gender as she goes through a trying and frequently humiliating educational process. In doing so, she realises her own power and freedom.
