Storyline
Boxing, rhythmic reggae, and blues are all interwoven in On the Ropes. This beautiful drama tells the tale of Vernon Vanriel, a member of the Windrush Generation who immigrated to Britain with his family when he was only 6 years old. Later on, he grew into one of the most well-known and significant Black British boxers of the 1970s and 1980s. After spending more than 40 years in North London, Vernon was left stranded and denied admission to the UK in 2005 as a result of what started out as a trip to Jamaica. Vernon found himself engaged in a knife-edge struggle for both his life and his right to citizenship. Buy your On the Ropes London tickets now to avoid disappointment later!
