Ari Freed is a young Jewish boy coming of age in a world that expects him to follow a predetermined path. However, his Bar Mitzvah – a day meant to mark his passage into adulthood – takes a harrowing turn when his father publicly shames him. Faygele. The f-word, and a homophobic slur.
