Maddie Moate’s Very Curious Christmas returns to the West End this festive season with a limited engagement at the Garrick Theatre. This Olivier Award–nominated hit ('Best Family Show') transforms Maddie’s beloved children’s book into a live STEM extravaganza, reuniting her with fan-favourite elves Tinker and Goggles, plus on-screen Mrs Claus With interval‑free 60 minutes of seasonal magic, live experiments, audience quizzes, and theatrical charm, it’s an immersive treat for families. Reviews acclaim it as “a perfect blend of science experiments and musical‑theatre with a pantomime flair,” (BroadwayWorld) and praise Maddie’s “maximum enthusiasm” and interactive warmth that keeps the crowd smiling and engaged.
Maddie is sent on work experience to Santa’s North Pole workshop, where things are spiraling out of control—silent crackers, snow machines gone haywire, flickering lights. With Mrs Claus due any moment, Maddie and her young audience help Tinker and Goggles restore order using science, curiosity, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic. Together they race the clock to pass the ultimate inspection and save holiday cheer.

The Garrick Theatre,((https://www.london-theater-tickets.com/london-theatres/garrick-theatre) located on Charing Cross Road near Trafalgar Square, first welcomed audiences on 24 April 1889 with Pinero’s The Profligate—financed by W. S. Gilbert and designed by Walter Emden & C. J. Phipps on top of a buried underground river. Named after the renowned 18th‑century actor David Garrick, it quickly became a West End favorite for comedies and melodrama. With its elegant gold‑leaf auditorium, richly detailed plasterwork, chandeliers, and intimate stalls and dress circle seating (originally four levels, now a cozy 656‑seat venue), audiences are transported back to Victorian‑era London—though the interior was fully restored in 1989 and the façade refreshed in 1997.Under ownership of Nimax Theatres since 2005, the Garrick has consistently mounted high‑profile comedies and dramas—think No Sex Please, We’re British (4‑year run), The Last Five Years, Hamnet, and The Crown Jewels.
