The show, an eclectic blend of circus acts, comedy shows for kids, cabaret for adults, and more, returns to London after skipping its 2023 run.
The Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, one of the world's largest arts festivals, is back, and this year promises to be more spectacular than ever. Among its myriad of venues, Underbelly, a renowned UK-based live entertainment company, stands out as a fan favorite. Its Spiegeltent, a large traveling tent reminiscent of the early circus shows, has always been an absolute standout. After a hiatus in 2023, the Underbelly Festival returns this year, bigger and better, ready to wow festival-goers.
The Underbelly Festival brings a distinctive flair to the Fringe, showcasing a diverse lineup that sets it apart from the rest of the event. From captivating acrobatics and circus acts to the sultry cabaret, and from parodies and queer-led shows to magic and art, there's something for everyone. Whether you're a local or a visitor, make sure to include the Underbelly Festival in your plans this summer.
There's nothing quite like a good summer festival, filled with food and drinks and deckchairs to lounge on as you sip away at a cooler. At Underbelly, you get all that and more with a sizzling lineup of the circus, comedy, and cabaret. Meander through the amazing venue as you make your way in and out of one of many shows being staged at Underbelly 2024.
For the adults, there's a full lineup of comedies, parodies, cabaret, and more. Some of our picks are the pantomime parody Dizney in Drag: Once Upon a Parody which runs from July 4 to 14 and the queer pan-Asian cabaret The Bitten Peach which runs from September 6 to 21.
The kids get an absolutely joyous list of shows with the award-nominated Mr Sleepybum (July 6 to 7), and the sketch comedy Shelf: The Kids' Show (September 21). The roster also includes magic shows, circus and acrobatics, dance and music, and much more.
Of course, there's entertainment for the whole family too with circus shows like Tweedy's Massive Circus (July 18 to 27) and the all-female Australian YUCK Circus (August 28 to September 8). If you're after something more musical, try Baby Loves Disco (July 14 to August 31, and September 15), a DJ-led pop music extravaganza. And even if you're all tuckered out, there's always the lounging chairs and summery treats just outside the tents.
