The 47th sheds light on the underbelly of the world's most powerful political spectacle, the US presidential election. Bertie Carvel, the Tony and Olivier award-winner, stars as Donald Trump attempting to win back the White House in the year 2024. Also in the cast list are Tamara Tunie as Kamala Harris and Lydia Wilson as Ivanka Trump.

Storyline

The year is 2024, it is almost time for the people of United States to elect their next president. But, who’s going to win this election and at what cost?

Donald Trump is all set to win back the White House and run for the upcoming presidential election in The 47th. Joe Biden, bleary-eyed and battle-weary, stalks the halls of power late at night like a crazed Lady Macbeth. Only Kamala Harris, who became the President of the United States after Joe Biden’s resignation, stands in Trump's path.

About Theatre

The Old Vic Theatre is located in the Waterloo area of London on the corner of The Cut and Waterloo Road. Originally known as the Royal Coburg Theatre, it was founded by the actor William Barrymore in 1818. It was renamed the Royal Victorian Theatre in 1833, after Princess Victoria who later was crowned the queen, and has kept that name to this day. Many of the most renowned actors of the last century have performed on its stage, including Vivien Leigh, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, and Kevin Spacey. It's famously known as "the actors' theatre".

Tube: The closest Tube station is Waterloo located just three minutes walk from the theatre. This station is serviced by the Northern, Waterloo, Jubilee, Bakerloo and City tube lines.
