Storyline
She is old and rich, and he is besotted. The central duet in Blackout Songs evokes the type of inebriated, raucous characters you would see on a late-night bus. It's initially as amusing as listening to a drunk person rant. Their frivolous flirtations and role-playing, however, reveal tenderness, intensity, and latent pain if one listens closely enough. While you never learn their names, you come to care for the protagonist pair in this drama and their love in the midst of addiction. A serendipitous meeting at an AA meeting leads to a shared need for both alcohol and sobriety, which opens doors to thrilling adventures.
