Matilda The Musical, London, staged at the Cambridge Theatre, is the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Olivier-winning adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic novel. Written by Dennis Kelly with original songs by comedian and composer Tim Minchin, it tells the story of an extraordinary little girl who dares to change her destiny. The production first opened with the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2010 before transferring to the West End in 2011 and later making its Broadway debut in 2013.
This record-breaker has collected over 100 international awards, including a record seven Olivier Awards in 2012 and five Tony Awards on Broadway. Storyline
At the heart of Matilda The Musical, London is Matilda Wormwood, a bright, book-loving girl with a fierce sense of justice. Couldn't see the entire stage, it wasn't explicitly clear that parts of the stage would be blocked due to the safety railing until AFTER I had already purchased the tickets
