Covent Garden'daki Cambridge Theatre, II. derece listede yer alan bir West End mekânıdır. 1930 yılında zarif Art Deco özellikleri, dairesel fuayesi ve Anthony Gibbons Grinling'in bronz frizleriyle tasarlanan bina, tarihi cazibesini samimi modern müzik sahnelemesiyle harmanlıyor. Half a Sixpence, Chicago, Return to the Forbidden Planet, ve şimdi de Matilda the Musical gibi sevilen yapımlara görevliydi.

This was fantastic. I went with my two boys aged 9 and 8. It was the 8 year olds birthday. They really enjoyed the show. We had partially obstructed seats but even allowing for that it was amazing. The staff were very helpful and the theatre very comfortable. Treats very expensive (2 tubs of ice cream for £11) and security on the way in was a bit confusing. But didn't take from how good the show was. Already planning on our return visit (might pay for the better seats though!)
The theater was small, old, and just kind of "meh". Having a man play the leading lady was an unnecessary put off. It just didn't meet my expectations at all. I certainly wasn't expecting Broadway, but I didn't even get Birmingham.
Music was interesting. Story the same but the kids were fantastic especially Matilda what a talented young girl. Full marks to the orchestra for managing an intricate score. Well done all.
It was a really special experience to bring my daughter to the show! We read the book together and it was amazing to watch the story brought to life by such talented performers.
