The Story

As he tells his coming-of-age story, Mike poses all the important questions, such as: why are we here? What is next? What happens when the items in the doctor's office that you initially thought were only decorative begin to actually have a purpose? When a doctor informs Birbiglia that he inherited the cardiac problems in his family, they advise Birbiglia to lead a healthy lifestyle. He fiercely declines, though, particularly when it comes to swimming, owing to childhood memories of an unbearably foul Massachusetts YMCA pool.
