Charles Wyndham was an actor and impresario who harboured a dream of running a theatre. This desire came to life in 1899 with the opening of the Wyndham's Theatre at Charing Cross, London. Wyndham's Theatre is listed as a Grade 2 West End theatre, and to date retains its original Louis XVI-themed decor. The theatre is now owned by the Delfont Macintosh Theatres and is a must-visit for performance lovers even today.

About Wyndham's Theatre
- The theatre has four levels - the Auditorium, Balcony, Royal Circle and Grand Circle, which can seat a maximum of 799 patrons.
- The Grand Circle and Balcony have extremely steep seats and are the furthest from the stage, which undoubtedly provides undeterred views because of their height.
- Rows B-F of the Royal Circle are the most premium seats in the theatre.
- If you happen to get Stall seats, ensure they are at least three rows behind, as the Wyndham's stage is quite high.

- Train: The nearest train station is Charing Cross. The theatre is a 10-minute walk from the station, on the right side of St. Martin’s corner.
- Tube: Leicester Square is the nearest tube station to the theatre. The Northern and Piccadilly lines will get you to this station. Once you exit the station, the theatre is right across the road.
You can also choose to disembark at Piccadilly Circus or Covent Garden stations, both a 10-minute walk away from the theatre. - Bus: The nearest bus stop is Charing Cross Road, which is frequented by routes 24, 29 and 176. You could also choose to get off at Shaftesbury Avenue, which is frequented by routes 14, 19, 38. London’s famous Trafalgar Square bus stop is also in the vicinity, a mere 10-minute walk away.
- Parking: You can park at the Q-Park Theatreland parking zone. At Q-Park, you can avail of a parking scheme with 50% off car parking after midday for up to 4 hours. The other parking zones nearby are at MasterPark at Cambridge Circus, which is 150 m away, and NCP at Bedfordbury and Upper St Martin's Lane. You will also have to pay a Congestion Charge Zone for Central London which costs £11.50 between 7 AM and 6 PM and is free outside this window.
