Storyline

The Lyric Theatre
[ is the oldest West End theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue. The Lyric Theatre seats 915 people over four levels: Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle, and Balcony. The Lyric Theatre, as it stands today was designed by C. J. Phipps built for the producer Henry Leslie, and was opened on 17th December 1888. Today, the theatre is owned by Nimax Theatres who bought the venue in 2005 from Andrew Lloyd Webber. The current structure of the building was listed as a Grade II listed building by English Heritage in February 1960.
