Why watch The Opera Locos?

  • The comedy opera where Puccini meets Elvis! A hit mix of classical arias and pop hits, this limited five-night run promises laughter and musical brilliance.
  • Led by the acclaimed Yllana Company, known for 31 theatrical shows across 44 countries, this award-winning production earned the Max Prize for Best Musical Theatre Show.
  • Expect physical comedy and powerhouse vocals as five eccentric singers fuse opera masterpieces with pop anthems from Whitney Houston to Mika.
  • Meet a colorful cast: Alfredo, the faded tenor; Enrique, the swaggering baritone; Franelli, the pop-loving countertenor; Maria, the dreamy soprano; and Carmen, the fiery mezzo.
  • Critics call it “an opera masterclass” that will make you “beam with joy”. Catch it at Peacock Theatre before it takes its final bow.

The Opera Locos turns the grandeur of opera on its head in a wildly funny night of music and mayhem. Brought to London’s Peacock Theatre by Spain’s award-winning Yllana Company, the show unites five world-class singers in a mash-up of Verdi, Puccini, and Mozart — with a side of Elvis and Whitney Houston. Each performer plays a larger-than-life character whose egos, passions, and rivalries explode onstage, making this a perfect show for both opera lovers and complete newcomers.

Storyline

When five eccentric opera singers gather for a grand concert, their soaring arias soon turn into comic chaos. Rivalries flare, hearts break, and pop tunes slip into Puccini’s finest. Between rehearsals, romances, and onstage blunders, this opera within an opera spirals into a melodramatic showdown of love, ego, and high notes. Can the troupe keep their performance together, or will their personal drama steal the show?
