Honestly, the moment those chandelier lights dimmed and the first notes of the overture filled the theatre, I felt something shift in my chest — like the air itself had changed. The atmosphere was nothing short of overwhelming. The grandeur of the set, the candlelit catacombs, the sheer scale of everything — it didn't feel like a stage. It felt like a world you had accidentally fallen into and weren't sure you wanted to leave. What struck me most was how the performances carried so much emotional weight without ever feeling theatrical in a hollow way. The Phantom wasn't just a villain or a monster — there was something achingly human about him, this brilliant, broken soul hiding behind a mask. Every note he sang felt like it came from a place of genuine longing. And Christine — watching her torn between fear and fascination, between safety and the pull of something darker and more beautiful — I found myself completely lost in her story. But the moment that truly wowed me? The Music of the Night. The way the Phantom drew her — and honestly, us — into his world with such vulnerability and intensity… the theatre went absolutely still. No rustling, no breathing it seemed. Just that voice, those words, and something that felt uncomfortably close to being seduced yourself. I left with that music living somewhere behind my ribs. Some performances you watch. This one, I carry home with me.
