MJ The Musical in London opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in March 2024 and has been a continuous testament to its theatrical quality. With a book by two‑time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and direction and choreography by Christopher Wheeldon, who earned Olivier and Tony Awards for his work, this West End production brings the Broadway hit to London. The show focuses on the rehearsals for Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour, blending archive-style flashbacks, powerful staging, and theatrical smoke and lighting effects for a memorable experience. MJ The Musical at the Prince Edward Theatre has “gravity‑defying dancing and all the mega‑hits” (The Guardian). It offers an immersive look into fame, family dynamics, and the creative spirit that made Jackson an icon.
Set in early 1992, MJ The Musical in London follows Michael Jackson as he prepares for the 1992 Dangerous World Tour while allowing a documentary film crew behind-the-scenes access. Through rehearsals and interviews, Jackson revisits his ancestors’ influence, childhood in The Jackson 5, and relationship with his father, exploring fame’s pressures and personal drive amidst iconic music and choreography. Flashbacks bring to life hits like "Thriller" and "Beat It", while his team helps shape his creative genius. Audiences watch a complex artist under scrutiny, and then leave wondering where the next beat will lead.

The theater was full and the line at the entrance was miles long. From there I knew the show would not disappoint, and in fact it was one of the most explosive performances I have ever seen!

A magical moment to celebrate the 10th birthday of a little boy who loves Michael Jackson. An extraordinarily talented cast. Enchanting sets, rhythm, much more singing and dancing than dialogue, which is great when your English is average 🤭 All this in a sumptuous theater. "I'll remember it for the rest of my life", said our Guest...the truth comes out of the mouths of babes 😉
