Storyline

The musical begins with a collection of familiar fairytale characters, each of whom has a wish: Cinderella dreams of attending the royal ball, Jack hopes his cow will give milk, the Baker and his Wife long for a child, and Little Red Riding Hood is on her way to her grandmother’s house. When the Witch reveals that the Baker and his Wife are cursed, they embark on a quest to gather magical items that will break the spell.

As Act I unfolds, the characters seemingly achieve their wishes, but Act II reveals the price they must pay. A giant’s wrath brings chaos, alliances shift, and characters face unexpected losses. In the end, Into the Woods delivers a profound message: “Be careful what you wish for.”
