Khalil Gibran is known worldwide as the best-selling author of all time after Shakespeare and Laozi. This was his first-ever poetic novel and is considered his most iconic piece.
Broken wings musical is a classic doomed love story adapted into a musical by Nadim Namaan and Dana Al Fardan.
It has a great set of actors, music, startling set and production that brings the story alive. The songs like "Selma, & All I Longed To See" add to the magic of this heart-wrenching story.
The theatrical show originally based out of Beirut now runs all over the world with numerous accolades and fans.

The Story

This quote by Khalil Gibran exemplifies the plight of the lovers who fell apart through the rules, traditions and expectations of society.
The musical starts in 1923 where an ageing Gibran narrates the story of his love set back in Beirut. An 18-year-old Khalil returns to the Middle East after 5 years, for his studies. With his pacing studies and learnings about his motherland, he had no intention of falling in love, but when he meets Selma, he can’t help but fall deeply. Selma Karamy, belonging to a wealthy family, was married to Mansour Bay Galib. Galib has no good intentions, instead has plans with his uncle Bishop Bulos Galib to yank Selma's money. Gibran and Selma fight for each other but end up surrendering to these unsolicited traditions of this world.
Broken Wings is a sentimental, dreamy, old school romance fairytale that does not end happily but holds a space in your heart to find someone that is just this right for you.
