This Broadway play premiered in the West End in 1935 and has been revived many times since. It still captures the hearts of theatergoers and for good reason!
The hilarious script is carried beautifully by the two-time Tony award-winning actor Sutton Foster, three-time Olivier-winning actor Robert Lindsay. What’s more, they are joined by theatre legends Felicity Kendal and Gary Wilmot! All these prolific actors bring to life director Kathleen Marshall’s stunning production of the script. The writing offers escapism comedy and never ceases to captivate the audience in this whimsical world.
The story is set in an ocean liner setting sail from New York to London. It follows the romance between an unlikely duo and how they set course in the rough seas. This story has everything from singing and dancing, a hilarious disguise, rib-tickling double entendres, and some timeless good fun. The 1930’s society’s fascination with celebrity mobsters coupled with old-school humor is accompanied by tap-dancing sailors and timeless melodies! This play has stood the test of time and remains a crowd favorite even today.
