Why Watch I Wish You Well?

  • Straight from the ski slopes, I Wish You Well is here at the Criterion Theatre! With songs about Gwyneth’s jade eggs and her (in)famous candle, get ready for the campiest true crime parody!

  • Directed by Shiv Rabheru, the current Resident Director of Hamilton at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre, this star-studded cast also includes X-Factor finalist Diana Vickers as Gwyneth Paltrow.

  • I Wish You Well is choreographed by the Olivier-winning Dame Arlene Phillips, appointed the Dame Commander for services to dance and charity

  • What happens when an optometrist slams into a celebrity on a picturesque ski slope? A Utah lawsuit (with an attorney fangirling over Gwyneth Paltrow) and a Twitter storm inspired this outrageous parody musical.

  • The production was a feature at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, so pick your drink of choice (bone broth for a Gwyneth tribute) and we’ll ski you in court!

When is a court trial in a sleepy Utah courtroom simply the most riveting news story? When it’s about Gwyneth Paltrow being sued for liability by an optometrist, Terry Sanderson for over 3 million dollars (that he reduces to 300,000 dollars.) And it covers moments like the frequent references to Taylor Swift (since Gwyneth countersues for $1, the court just has to know if she knows Taylor!) and Terry’s attorney’s weird digression into an extended cow-milking anecdote.

With choreography by Olivier-winner Dame Arlene Phillips and a soundtrack that parodies some of the strangest moments of a truly bizarre case, I Wish You Well will definitely raise your spirits.

Storyline

In beautiful Deer Valley, Utah, a snowstorm of epic proportions is growing. Completely unrelated to the weather outside. Retired optometrist Terry Sanderson and jade-egg-inserting Gwyneth Paltrow have collided, and Terry claims that the collision had resulted in a brain injury that caused him to no longer enjoy wine tastings.

The trial that involved a lawyer who was obsessed with Gwyneth, asking her how tall she was (and Gwyneth replying that she liked Kristin’s shoes), questions about whether Taylor Swift was a close friend of Gwynnie P’s (because of their $1 countersuits) is a production now about how two worlds collide. Literally. And how a lawsuit is, quite possibly, the most fun ever had in true crime.
