The theatre was constructed in 1882 and is listed as a Grade II venue. In November 2021, the Playhouse Theatre was remodelled to resemble a 1930s burlesque Berlin club, to give viewers an authentic experience while witnessing the theatre’s iconic production of Cabaret.
