Formerly known as the New London Theatre, The Gillian Lynne Theatre was opened in 1973. In 2018, the theatre was renamed as Gillian Lynne Theatre. The site of the theatre has been home to many entertainment spaces prior to the modern building, going back as far as the Elizabethan era. The designers, Paul Tvrtkovic and Sean Kenny, took inspiration from Berlin’s Walter Gropius’ Total Theater Model. The Stalls area accommodates a total of 862 seats, which includes accessible seating. As the largest section within the theatre, it forms a semi-circular curve around the stage.
