Matthew Warchus

Developer and Director of Matilda The Musical

Matthew Warchus has developed and directed Matilda: The Musical. His other theater credits include Groundhog Day, A Christmas Carol, and The Caretaker. Warchus’ Groundhog Day has even won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. Warchus has also worked in Opera. Some of his most popular opera works are Troilus and Cressida, Falstaff, Cosi fan Tutte, and The Rake’s Progress. Matthew has worked as an Associate Director at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and is currently the Artistic Director of Old Vic, London.
