Kiln Theatre, previously known as the Tricycle Theatre, has a fascinating history spanning several decades. In 1929, the Foresters’ Hall was built at the site as a meeting place for members of Kilburn’s Foresters’ Friendly Society branch. It later doubled as a music and dance hall. In 1980, Wakefield Tricycle Company, a touring theatre company, made the hall its home and turned it into the Tricycle Theatre. It swiftly gained acclaim for its dedication to diverse programming, producing thought-provoking plays that fearlessly tackled social and political issues. In 2018, the theatre underwent a significant transformation, rebranding as Kiln Theatre to symbolize a fresh chapter in its narrative and strengthen its ties to the Kilburn community. • The Kiln Theatre was initially designed by architect Tim Foster and theatre consultant Iain Mackintosh in 1980 and the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond, Yorkshire was the inspiration behind the design.
  
• The theatre building underwent a major renovation in 2018, led by Chapman Architects, which transformed its appearance and functionality.
