Les Misérables celebrates 40 years with cinematic revival and major arena tour

Madhushree

Les Misérables, the musical that has captivated audiences for four decades, is gearing up for an extraordinary 2024. With its 40th-anniversary milestone on the horizon, fans can anticipate a treat as the beloved musical takes centre stage with a major arena tour and a re-release of its cinematic adaptation. As the West End continues to revel in the musical's enduring success, a remastered version of Tom Hooper's 2012 film is set to hit cinemas next month.

Tom Hooper's cinematic rendition of the timeless Boublil and Schönberg classic made waves in 2012, clinching three Oscars and setting a record for a musical film's highest opening day gross. The new iteration boasts the immersive sound and visuals of Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. The cutting-edge technology promises to transport audiences back to the sweeping landscapes of 19th-century France, where the tale of love, sacrifice, and redemption unfolds.

Following its release in the United Kingdom on 14 February 2024, Les Misérables will make its way to cinemas across the United States from 23 February 2024.

In addition to the cinematic revival, Les Misérables enthusiasts have another reason to rejoice – a major arena tour is in the works. As the musical's popularity continues unabated, the arena tour promises to bring the magic of Les Misérables to even broader audiences.
