Churchill Theatre was inaugurated on 19 July 1977 by the Prince of Wales and has since then been one of the leading live entertainment venues in Southeast London. Named after former Prime Minister Winston Churchill, the theatre was built by the London Borough of Bromley and took seven years to complete. The cost of the construction was £1.63m.

The theatre has staged several amazing and popular musicals, drama, comedy, dance, family shows, one-night events, and pantomime. It continues to present ‘Bromley Premiere’ shows, which feature new productions before the National or West End tour. Churchill Theatre runs on a contract basis, which is currently held by Trafalgar Entertainment. Prior to that, it was under the possession of HQ Theatres & Hospitality and the Ambassador Theatre Group.

Visual

• The venue provides a visual story to help guests prepare for a new experience and get them familiar with the new surroundings.
  
• The theatre also hosts audio-described performances and relaxed performances from time to time.

Auditory & Speech  

• A Sennheiser infrared audio system is available for patrons with hearing problems and for audio-described performances. 
  
• There are two types of headsets available for guests who need artificial assistance to hear clearly — one which amplifies sound and another a neck loop, which transmits audio signals directly to the hearing aid with a T setting.
  
• The Box Office can also provide a loop audio system for better hearing.
  
• The theatre regularly hosts sign language-interpreted, and captioned performances for hearing-impaired guests.

Motor/Mobility 

• Guests with reduced mobility can enter the Box Office, Circle Foyer, and the Circle itself through the level or step-free access available on High Street and Churchill Way. Step-free access to Row F in the Stalls is available through the entrance on Tetty Way.
  
• The theatre staff will be happy to bring your drinks to your seat during the interval.
  
• The lounge has step-free access to the bar and toilets. However, getting to the lounge requires one to climb a flight of 10 stairs.
  
• Wheelchair spaces are available inside the auditorium. 
  
• Aisle seats for patrons who wish to transfer from their wheelchairs are also available.
  
• The studio inside the theatre is also wheelchair accessible.
  
• There is an elevator from the Terrace to the Stalls for patrons who might need to use it. The staff will be happy to escort you there.

Others

• Parking for Blue Badge holders is available on Tetty Way and Churchill Way. Coach parking facilities are also available on Churchill Way.
  
• The venue offers complimentary companion tickets for disabled guests who need someone to accompany or assist them. The seats are located right next to the accessible seat ticket.
  
• There is dedicated staff at the theatre to help you with anything that you might need.
  
• An accessible toilet is located to the right of the Box Office.
  
• Guide, hearing and other working dogs are welcome at the theatre.
