Directed by Cal McCrystal, HMS Pinafore is both fun and engaging for the audience. Chris Hopkins, one of the ENO favorites, will be conducting this production with a crew of talented artists. The Story

HMS Pinafore story takes place on a Royal Navy ship by the same name. The story revolves around the Captain of the ship and his daughter, Josephine. She falls in love with a low-class sailor named Ralph Rackstraw but her father wants to marry her to Sir Joseph Porter, the First Lord of the Admiralty. In the beginning, she succumbs to her father’s wishes but when Sir Joseph advocates the equality of humankind, she changes her mind.

Ralph and Josephine confess their love and decide to elope together. However, the Captain discovers this plan and a surprise disclosure dramatically changes things in the end.
