⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Incredible — A Must-See in London!
Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre in London was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we walked in, the experience was incredible. The Lyric Theatre is a beautiful, intimate venue, and the best part is that there truly isn’t a bad seat in the house. Every seat offers a fantastic view of the stage, which made the entire performance feel incredibly immersive.
The pacing of the show is perfection. It moves effortlessly from one moment to the next, keeping you completely captivated without ever feeling rushed or dragging. And the cast… WOW! Every single performer brought incredible power, emotion, and personality to their character. Each role was portrayed with such depth that you couldn’t help but become completely invested in their stories.
And the music! The songs are absolutely mesmerizing. Beautiful, haunting, soulful, and unforgettable. The combination of the music, lighting, choreography, and performances creates an atmosphere that pulls you right into the world of Hadestown.
I took my teenage daughter, and watching her experience the show was honestly one of my favorite parts. She loved every single minute of it! It’s rare to find a show that can completely captivate both adults and teenagers, but Hadestown absolutely delivered.
Every character gave a stellar performance, and the entire cast deserves tremendous praise. There was so much talent on that stage, and you could feel the energy and passion throughout the entire theater.
If you’re in London, GO SEE HADESTOWN. Don’t hesitate. The intimate Lyric Theatre, phenomenal cast, mesmerizing music, and flawless pacing make this a theatrical experience you won’t forget.

Handlingen
Hadestown fokuserar på kärlekshistorierna kring Orfeus och Eurydike och den grekiska underjordens gud Hades och hans hustru Persefone. Orfeus och Eurydike är två älskare som lever i fattigdom. För att få mat och husrum ger Eurydike upp sitt liv och blir arbetare i Hadestown, Hades underjordiska fabrik. När Orfeus får reda på detta beger han sig till underjorden och lovar att rädda Eurydike.
Orfeus får även de andra arbetarna på sin sida och inspirerar Persefone med sin beslutsamhet. Eurydike ber Hades att ge Orfeus en chans att vinna tillbaka hennes mänskliga liv. Kommer han att lyckas? It was without a doubt one of the most energetic and talented cast that I have seen for a very long time . It's unfair to pick out one cast member (especially the red-headed Persephone) but all delivered performances that felt fresh and joyous. in a word ,all were outstanding . Being able to see and read the transcript of the production was for me personally a highlight . It was like hearing /reading a love letter to the Gods . It was just so damn brilliant. From the staging to the incredible live band it was well worth flying across the globe to see . The connection with the audience was palpable and the standing ovation truly deserved . Bravo ....and yes , I'd gladly come back to London to see it again .

The show was absolutely wonderful. Everybody in the cast perfectly embodied their character. And the music is obviously magical. I loved every minute of it. I also think it's great that you can't use your phone during theatre (duh) because you're just so much more in the moment. I just snagged a little photo during the beautiful encore. Lovely experience. I already want to go back.

gorgeous theatre, staff were so nice. super easy to get around and i had an amazing seat (A19). had to lean forward slightly at times to see the front of the stage but so worth it. would definitely go again.

I saw Hadestown on the West End in London for the first time ever, and I absolutely fell in love with the show. Before this I hadn't understood the hype but now I definetly did.
