The Duchess Tiyatrosu Londra'nın Batı Yakası'ndaki en samimi proscenium-arch tiyatrolarından biridir. Mimar Ewen Barr tarafından tasarlanan tiyatro, alışılmadık şekilli bir alanın zorluklarının üstesinden gelmek için ustaca hazırlanmıştır. Tiyatro kapılarını Kasım 1929'da Hubert Griffith'in Tunnel Trench adlı oyunuyla açtı. Duchess Tiyatrosu ilk yıllarında, önde gelen oyun yazarlarının eserlerinin yer aldığı bir dizi kısa ama kayda değer gösteriye görevli olmuş ve West End sahnesinde yer edinmesine yardımcı olmuştur.

I've been directing small town community volunteer theatre for over forty years, specializing in comedies and specifically farces. I've also seen many professional shows in the bigger cities and especially in New York. I'm usually NOT fooled about what comes next, or how the gag gets played out. THIS show not only surprised me at EVERY turn, but I can't recall laughing out loud so much at a play. So many times we, the audience, broke into applause during a bit that I can't count how many times that happen
Very funny, silly, slap-stick and well acted! We laughed throughout the play. If you like serious drama, you might not like this one. But it's a safe bet for the entire family. We enjoyed watching kids laugh who were seated around us.
I love how the cast began interacting with the audience prior to the beginning of the play. Tonight an understudy was performing the role for the first time and did a fantastic job. The entire play was full of side splitting humor.
i'm a fan of silliness in the Monty Python style, and this show delivered in spades. i was certain the whole set would have to collapse before it ended, and i was on the mark. lots of belly laughs, a bit long
Lovely small theatre, fab cast, great laughs, great great actors, show just got crazier by the minute. So impressed, wasnt expecting to like too much of the slapstick stuff but the set and crew just made it!!
